PwC Jersey Young Musician of the Year Final
12th March 2022, 19:00-22:00
Les Quennevais School
The final of this fiercely fought annual competition, organised by the Jersey Music Service and sponsored by PwC, celebrates its 30th year at the new Les Quennevais School. The evening will showcase the very best of Jersey’s young musicians in piano, string, woodwind, brass, and vocal categories in a programme that promises an extraordinarily high standard of performance. A night that illustrates the wealth of musical talent that can be found in our small island community.
The finest young musicians in Jersey compete for the title of Jersey Young Musician of the Year. This coveted title will be awarded to the young performer who gives the most expressive and technically accomplished performance of their chosen repertoire. Many past winners of this competition have gone on to pursue successful careers in music.
To reach the final each musician has had to win their particular heat in competition with other instrumentalists of their instrumental family. Now the heat winners go head-to-head producing an array of instrumental timbres, musical styles and genres.
Our finalists are Taormina Plummer (vocal), Nicholas Lawrenson (violin), Eve Sproats (saxophone), Augustine Stayte (piano), and Ivan Sproats (trumpet).
Guest performers include 2021 winner Charlie Dicker (vocal), and 2020 winner Charlotte Arthur (saxophone).
Tickets are sold by Eventbrite at £12 for adults and £6 for students: https://pwc-jersey-young-musician-of-the-year-final.eventbrite.co.uk/
