Royal Marines Band Virtual Masterclass

We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with the Royal Marines Band and JMS alumna Lance Corporal Elsie Warner to provide a virtual masterclass to young musicians in Jersey next term.

“My name is Lance Corporal Elsie Warner and I currently serve in the Royal Marines Band Service as a French Horn player. I joined up in 2014 after completing my music degree at the Royal Northern College of Music and have never looked back. Born in Jersey and spending most of my time living in St Ouen, I began my musical journey at Les Quennevais where I began Tenor Horn lessons. Over the years that followed I joined the Band of the Island of Jersey, Jersey Premier Brass and attended the Jersey Music Service Wind Orchestra. Through the tuition I received in lessons both at school and through the JMS with Allan Jones, I was given the guidance, knowledge, support and encouragement to be able to successfully complete my BMus Hons Music degree and to pass my audition and training to join the Royal Marines Band. Throughout the last 6 years I have had the opportunity to travel the world, play at world famous venues and be a part of world class concerts and band tattoos.

Next term, I would like you to join me for a virtual online event where you will be able to watch live masterclasses from incredibly talented members of the Royal Marines Band in a range of instrument categories and you will have an insight into what this amazing career has to offer. I very much look forward to seeing you all in the Autumn term for what should be a great event!”

We’ll provide more information on the masterclass here on our website in due course.
